Howard David Fills In At Sporting News Radio

Veteran sportscaster HOWARD DAVID is filling in all this week on SPORTING NEWS RADIO in the 9a-1p slot formerly occupied by TONY BRUNO, who exited earlier this year. DAVID, who is broadcasting live from LOS ANGELES all week, has served as the voice of the MIAMI DOLPHINS, BOSTON CELTICS, NEW JERSEY NETS, MILWAUKE BUCKS, NEW YORK JETS and NEW YORK COSMOS, and as radio play-by-play voice of NFL football coverage on CBS RADIO/WESTWOOD ONE. He also hosted mornings on BEASLEY Sports WQAM-A/MIAMI.

BMS Adds Bernstein

KFNS To Launch New Afternoon Show

BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING Sports KFNS-A-F/ST. LOUIS fills the afternoon slot left vacant after KEVIN SLATEN's firing with a new show hosted by station veterans BOB FESCOE and BOB RAMSEY along with ZIMMER Sports KTGR-A (ESPN RADIO 1580 THE TIGER)/COLUMBIA' MO host KYLE ELFRINK (to be known at KFNS as KYLE THOMAS). The new show will air 2-6p CT and will launch next TUESDAY. FESCOE formerly co-hosted mornings and has been a frequent fill-in since departing the morning show in JANUARY; RAMSEY had been co-hosting middays 10a-1p with FRANK CUSUMANO, who remains on the schedule solo 10a-noon. In addition, evening "SPORTS EDGE" hosts JEFF VERNETTI and JEFF GORDON will move to middays noon-2p. CHRIS DIMINO, who has been doing 1-3p from ATLANTA, where he hosts a show on sister WQXI-A (790 THE ZONE), is ending the ST. LOUIS show but will continue in ATLANTA.

Sports Byline USA Heads To Afghanistan

Syndicated SPORTS BYLINE USA will be airing live from AFGHANISTAN next MONDAY through WEDNESDAY (6/23-25), and host RON BARR will be joined on the trip to visit the troops by SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS head coach MIKE NOLAN and former NINER ERIC DAVIS. The show will be heard on stations across AMERICA, 500 stations in 177 countries through AMERICAN FORCES RADIO, on cell phones via UPSNAP, and via podcast and live stream at sportsbyline.com.

Bakken Named Voice Of The RiverKings

Veteran hockey broadcaster BOB BAKKEN has joined the CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE's MISSISSIPPI RIVERKINGS as Media Coordinator. BAKKEN will call all of the MEMPHIS-area team's games and will also coordinate all media relations activities and assist in the team's community relations work, corporate sales and ticket sales. BAKKEN was most recently with the USHL's OMAHA LANCERS and has 14 years of hockey broadcasting under his belt in OMAHA and SIOUX CITY. "I am excited about becoming a part of the RIVERKINGS hockey tradition,” BAKKEN said. "This is a great organization and I look forward to representing it with the professionalism and passion for hockey that I’ve brought to my broadcasts over the past several years with AMERICA's version of major junior hockey." Suchon Joins KABC As Dodger Reporter

Former OAKLAND TRIBUNE A'S beat reporter and MODESTO NUTS radio voice JOSH SUCHON is joining CITADEL Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES as DODGERS reporter for the station's pre- and post-game "DODGER TALK" show. SUCHON, who wrote a book about BARRY BONDS' 73-homer season, "This Gracious Season: BARRY BONDS & The Greatest Year in Baseball," will also contribute DODGER reports to regular programming on KABC and sister Classic Rock KLOS.

Haxton Named ORU Men's Hoops Voice
Sports KYAL-A-F-KBIX-A (THE SPORTS ANIMAL)/TULSA host GEOFF HAXTON adds duties as the play-by-play voice of ORAL ROBERTS UNIVERSITY men's basketball on the station this season, replacing MARK NEELY, who left to join the BIG TEN NETWORK. HAXTON has been serving as the voice of ORU women's basketball and and men's baseball, which he will continue to do.

BMS To Produce National "Broadcast of Select Division I FCS Games
